Mountain Girl, River Girl Book three

Mountain Girl, River Girl, by: Ting Xing Ye was a good book, but I was confused about a few things. I thought the story revolving around Shui-Lian was a sad horrifying tale, that many people are aware of happening around the world. The story of Pan-Pan on the other hand, seemed almost like a joke. I dont mean to sound heartless, because this is a sad situation for someone to be in. But I want to know are their really people that concerned about "fox stink" in the world? I thought a different situation could have been used in this story instead of her being upset by her body odour. I realize the author uses this as a reason to make her family push her away a little, but I think many other views could have been taken. But this book was none the less a very good read, and I enjoyed it. The end was a perfect fit for the two girls.
